Webinar series – 4th edition (2025)
China’s 15th Five-Year-Plan (FYP) 2026-2020 – building towards China’s next milestone in 2035 under unabating geopolitical pressure
The theme of this year’s edition is China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year-Plan (FYP, 2026-2030) and we curate again six webinars with six distinct angles on the main theme. The 15th FYP is being drafted these months with its outline (纲要建议) communicated foreseeably in October 2025 after the 20th Central Committee’s Fifth Plenum endorses it and then the full plan will be formally decided and published at the NPC in March 2026.

Webinar series – 3rd edition (2024)
Six structural transitions in China’s evolving political economy:
Making sense of policymaking under the 14th Five-Year-Plan (2021-2025) to govern the economy towards “High-Quality-Development”
CMG has developed a framework that helps us make sense of China’s evolving political economy and the strategic business context for foreign business on a structural level. We conceptualize China’s political economy as six structural transitions that Chinese policymakers have been shaping, and which since the adoption of the 14th Five-Year-Plan (2021-2025) notably also involve policy-steered trade-off and rebalancing processes. To explore, debate and refine this conceptualization, we dedicated our 2024 ‘Staying in dialogue with China’ webinar series to these six structural transitions featuring six distinguished Chinese economists as expert speakers.
