Event Date: 8th April 2025, online

The Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce and the EU-China Business Association held a webinar focusing on China's evolved development strategy, reform priorities, and economic recovery – a "reality check" after the 2025 National People's Congress (NPC), presented by Markus Herrmann Chen from China Macro Group (CMG).

The webinar provided an up-to-date analysis of China's evolving strategic business context for European businesses, offering insights into key factors such as China's reform policymaking priorities, post-COVID economic recovery, and geopolitical factors. Furthermore, it proposed key takeaways from the 2025 National People's Congress (NPC), focusing on measures to address the structural issue of “insufficient domestic demand” and reflecting on the ongoing drafting of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

This session aimed to support European businesses in making informed strategic decisions amid China's evolving economic and political landscape.

We would like to thank the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce and the EU-China Business Association, as well as Gwenn Sonck, who moderated this session, for inviting China Macro Group (CMG) to contribute to this insightful event.
